Salary: £40,190 per year + tips/tronc
Were looking for an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to lead the kitchen team for an exciting new sports bar concept at the iconic Hippodrome Casino London, reporting directly to the Executive Chef.
This is a unique opportunity to take charge of a high-profile opening and play a key role in one of Londons most dynamic hospitality environments, working alongside the award-winning Heliot Steak House brigade.
The Role:
As Sous Chef, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen for the new sports bar concept from food quality and service delivery to health & safety and team management. You will have ownership of the operation, while collaborating closely with the Executive Chef on menu development, planning, and standards.
Youll lead a high-performing team and ensure the kitchen delivers exciting, bold, and consistent food in a fast-paced service environment that blends great cooking with the thrill of live sport.
Key Responsibilities:
Full responsibility for the kitchen operation and team during your shifts
Drive menu development alongside the Executive Chef, helping shape a fresh and exciting sports bar offering
Maintain the highest food quality, presentation, and consistency
Ensure exceptional cleaning, hygiene, and food safety standards at all times
Coach, train and inspire the brigade, building a culture of excellence, professionalism, and respect
Manage stock control, Rota planning, costings, ordering, and compliance
Be a visible leader on service, organized, calm, and in control
Work with flexibility, including evening and night shifts where required
What were looking for:
Minimum 3 years experience in a Sous Chef role within a high-volume, quality-driven kitchen
A confident leader who thrives under pressure and takes pride in team performance
Strong understanding of modern British or sports bar-style cuisine
Track record of delivering exceptional standards in food, hygiene, and service
A passion for innovation, food trends, and evolving menus
A proactive, hands-on approach with excellent communication skills
