Northern EHS Advisor Location: Home-based | UK-wide travel (Nottingham to Aberdeen) Salary: £45,000 + package
The Role
This is a highly autonomous, field-based role offering variety, flexibility, and real influence. You'll work closely with site teams to support, guide, and improve Health & Safety performance — not police it.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing EHS support across warehouse, transport, and operational sites
  • Conducting and supporting internal and external audits (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001)
  • Preparing sites for audits and supporting close-out of actions
  • Supporting incident investigations and ensuring corrective actions are completed
  • Driving proactive safety culture, including near-miss and hazard reporting
  • Carrying out regular site visits (typically quarterly per site, plus ad hoc support)
  • Working collaboratively within a wider EHS team, with regular team calls and reviews

You'll typically be on-site 2–3 days per week, with flexibility to manage your own diary. Occasional overnight stays (1–2 per month) are required and fully expensed.
About You
We're looking for a pragmatic, personable EHS professional who enjoys being close to operations and building relationships on site.
You'll ideally have:
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in transport, logistics, warehousing, or manufacturing environments
  • Auditing experience (internal and/or ISO-based)
  • Strong understanding of operational risks such as MHE, racking, vehicle movement, working at height, and people movement
  • A supportive, solutions-focused approach — not an enforcement-led style
  • The confidence and competence to operate independently across multiple sites

What's On Offer
  • Salary of up to £45,000
  • £5,900 car allowance (company car available after probation if preferred)
  • 33 days holiday (25 + bank holidays)
  • 5% employer pension contribution plus life assurance (3x salary)
  • A genuinely supportive EHS team culture
  • Long-term career development, including support towards NEBOSH Diploma for the right individual

Why Join this company?
People tend to stay at this business and for good reason. You'll be joining a business that values relationships, invests in its people, and treats Health & Safety as a key enabler rather than a box-ticking exercise. If you want a role with autonomy, variety, and the chance to make a real impact, this could be an excellent next step.
