Nursery Practitioner Level 3

Our client, a private Day Nursery and Preschool, located in Sidcup is seeking to recruit a Nursery Practitioner Level 3 to join their team. Responsible to: Head of Director, Manager, Deputy Manager, Senior Room Leader, and Room Leader Purpose of the job: To work as a key worker and as part of the nursery team under the direction of the Management team to provide safe, high quality education and care for young children. Hours: 40 hour week over 4 days (10 hour days) Main Duties: To assist with the planning of the Early Years Foundation Stage and to ensure that systems of observation and record keeping of your key children occurs so that childrens attainment and progress are effectively and regularly assessed; to monitor the effectiveness of assessment procedures. To help set up the playroom for the daily programme and to help tidy away at the end of the session. To act as a key worker to a small group of children, liaising closely with parents/ carers and ensuring each childs needs are recognised and met and to feed this back to parents at the end of the session and three times per year at parents evening. To advise the Room Leader of any concerns e.g. over children, parents or the safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary. To teach children, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulation. To attend staff meetings and in-service training courses and meetings as required. To keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff that is acquired as part of the job. Maintaining security and health and safety aspects of the nursery according to Health and Safety policy. Working within the required standards, ratios, conditions of registration and EYFS Statutory Framework. Adhering to Policies and Procedures and complying with the Childrens Acts of 1989 and 2004. To ensure that the nursery offers an environment that reflects the cultural diversity of all children. To support the whole of the team at including work experience students and volunteers in developing and maintaining links within the local community to create a positive nursery profile. To ensure close supervision of children during meal times and adhering to the allergy and dietary requirements of all children within the nursery. To ensure close supervision of medication being administered according to the medication policy. To follow procedures for the positive management of the behaviour To step up into the role of responsible person if your Room Leader is absent. Management will clarify. To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the nursery management, in accordance with the nurserys business plan/ objectives.
