HSTG Maintenance Contracts Limited t/aSJG Maintenance is a growing maintenance and small construction business delivering high-quality,reliable services across residential and commercial projects. As we continue to scale, we are seeking anexperienced Operations Manager to take ownership of day-to-day operations and ensure the businessruns efficiently, profitably, and professionally.
This is a senior, hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment,is comfortable managing multiple priorities, and takes accountability seriously.
The Role
You will have end-to-end responsibility for operational performance across the business. Acting as thecentral link between ownership, the office, and the field teams, you will ensure projects are delivered ontime, within budget, and to a high standard.
You will be responsible for operational execution, people management, cost control, and continuousimprovement as the business grows.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the office team while overseeing site operatives and subcontractors
Plan, coordinate, and deliver multiple maintenance and small construction projects concurrently
Schedule and optimise labour, vehicles, and jobs on a daily and weekly basis
Act as the primary operational liaison between ownership, staff, suppliers, and clients
Track and control job costs, materials, labour, and supplier spend
Manage operational budgets and maintain strong cost discipline
Ensure efficient utilisation of staff, vehicles, and resources
Resolve operational issues quickly in a live, high-pressure environment
Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and customer service
Improve systems, processes, and workflows to support business growth
Produce regular operational and financial performance reports for ownership
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
You will be accountable for meeting and reporting against agreed monthly targets, including but notlimited to: - Monthly revenue and gross margin
Labour productivity and efficiency
Job profitability and cost control
Vehicle utilisation and downtime
On-time project completion
Rework and defect reduction
Safety, compliance, and incident performance
What Were Looking For
Minimum 2 years proven experience in operations, project, or site management
Background in maintenance, construction, trades, or a related industry
Strong leadership and people-management capability
Sound financial and commercial awareness
Calm, decisive, and effective under pressure
Comfortable managing competing priorities and changing demands
Practical, solutions-focused mindset with strong accountability
Clear, confident communicator with staff, suppliers, and ownership
Technically confident and comfortable using operational systems and tools
