We do what we say! That's why we need people like you to help us deliver on our promises. People who enjoy getting things done! We have an opportunity for an experienced Area Manager to join our growing team based in Maple Cross, supporting the delivery of new watermain installation projects for our client, Thames Water. You'll play a key role in ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance — leading and supporting teams to deliver essential infrastructure that keeps communities connected. The Role As Area Manager, you'll take responsibility for organising, supporting, and managing operational teams to ensure the effective execution of work in a cost-efficient and productive manner. You'll focus on achieving contractual requirements and meeting key performance targets around safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and delivery. Here are some of the activities you'll be involved in... Lead the delivery of new watermain installation projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and to specification. Manage resources, labour, and plant efficiently to meet programme and budget targets. Oversee Health & Safety and CDM compliance on site, carrying out regular inspections and audits. Provide technical guidance and operational support to prevent and resolve issues. Promote a “right first time” approach, encouraging best practice and high standards of customer service. Support the development of your team, ensuring all colleagues and subcontractors are trained, competent, and compliant. We'd love to hear from you if… You have proven experience in the water industry, ideally within watermain installation, with a solid understanding of the regulatory and safety requirements involved in such works. A confident communicator and natural organiser, you'll be able to lead teams, manage programmes, and ensure work is delivered to the highest standards. A full UK driving licence is essential for this role, as regular travel to sites will be required. NRSWA accreditation is also required, along with relevant qualifications or accreditations for watermain works within the Thames Water region (such as EUSR, SHEA Water, or NCO). IOSH or SMSTS certification would be advantageous. You'll be someone who leads by example, promoting a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability, while maintaining a practical and solutions-focused approach to getting the job done.
