We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing wealth management firm seeking an experienced Paraplanner to join their busy and supportive Stamford-based team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a professional financial planning environment where you will play a key role supporting a large team of advisers and contributing to high-quality client outcomes.
This role would suit a detail-driven financial services professional with paraplanning experience, strong report writing skills, and a solid understanding of FCA-regulated advice processes.
The Role
As Paraplanner, you will provide technical and administrative support to financial advisers, helping deliver compliant, well-researched and client-focused financial planning solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing detailed suitability reports covering pensions, investments, protection, and retirement planning strategies
Analysing client fact finds and financial information to support advisers in developing appropriate recommendations
Carrying out technical research on financial products, providers, platforms, funds, and tax-efficient planning options
Producing cashflow modelling outputs and financial analysis to support long-term planning discussions
Reviewing existing client arrangements and identifying potential improvements or restructuring opportunities
Ensuring all advice documentation meets FCA compliance standards and internal quality requirements
Supporting advisers in preparing for client meetings, including producing recommendation packs and technical summaries
Liaising with providers, platforms, and internal administration teams to obtain information and progress client cases
Maintaining accurate client records, documentation, and audit trails within financial planning systems
Assisting with technical queries from advisers relating to pensions legislation, tax treatment, investment structures, and regulatory requirements
Monitoring outstanding cases and ensuring actions are completed within agreed service levels
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Minimum 2 years experience within the financial services industry
Experience working within a financial planning or IFA environment
Level 4 Diploma qualified or actively working towards qualification
Strong report writing and analytical skills
Understanding of FCA regulations and regulated advice processes
Experience using financial advice platforms or planning software (desirable)
Strong Microsoft Office skills
A proactive, organised and professional approach with excellent attention to detail
