Job responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with the Back Office Team to identify and source the correct parts needed for Mobile Mechanics jobs.
  • Utilize established supplier networks to address gaps and ensure optimal supplier coverage across the UK.
  • Order all required parts in advance (preferably one day before or on the day of the job) to ensure timely availability.
  • Confirm estimated time of arrival (ETA) for parts and proactively manage supplier relationships to ensure reliability.
  • Notify Account Executives of any parts on backorder and communicate anticipated delays.
  • Coordinate efficient collection routes for mechanics to reduce travel time and improve operational productivity.
  • Manage parts returns, liaising with technicians and their line managers to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Place orders for mechanic parts and stock items based on service schedules and inventory levels.
  • Conduct regular audits of parts orders to ensure accuracy, proper tracking, and correct purchasing practices.
  • Generate and analyze reports on inventory levels, parts usage, and other key operational metrics.
  • Work closely with suppliers to address and resolve issues related to supply chain disruptions or part quality concerns.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards in all aspects of inventory control and stock management.
  • Verify that all parts ordered meet warranty requirements for specific vehicles.
  • Research and onboard alternative suppliers for parts and oil to drive cost efficiency.
  • Support the Back Office Team with scheduling part collections as needed.
  • Oversee inventory management of all parts, ensuring accurate tracking and proper return processing.
  • Prepare and submit weekly reports to senior management, providing insights into stock status and operational performance.


Qualifications and Skills:


  • Familiarity with automotive parts and systems, as well as experience with quality control processes, is also beneficial.
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively, as well as a high level of organisational skills, are critical for success in this role.
  • The ability to analyse complex data, identify trends and issues, and develop creative solutions to problems is essential.
  • The ability to work well in a team environment, as well as a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills, are important for building positive relationships with colleagues and suppliers.
  • Prioritisation of work based on urgency, time and impact.
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is crucial in this role to ensure that inventory levels are maintained and that parts are ordered and received correctly.
  • The ability to adapt to changing business needs, prioritise tasks, and work under pressure is important in this fast-paced industry.
  • A strong commitment to safety and compliance with regulations related to inventory control and parts management is essential to ensure a safe working environment.
