Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs? Academics are currently recruiting for a SEND Pastoral Assistant to join a welcoming SEN school in Halifax on a full-time basis starting as soon as possible.

This rewarding role involves supporting students with a range of additional needs, helping them feel safe, understood, and ready to learn. The school is looking for someone who is positive, calm, and nurturing, with the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils who may need additional emotional and behavioural support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide pastoral and emotional support to pupils with SEND.
• Support students who may experience anxiety, behavioural challenges, or social difficulties.
• Help create a calm, safe, and supportive learning environment.
• Work closely with teaching staff and the wider pastoral team.
• Encourage positive behaviour and promote student wellbeing.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have previous experience working with children with SEN/SEND (school, care, or youth work settings).
• Be patient, resilient, and empathetic.
• Have a calm and nurturing approach when supporting pupils.
• Be confident managing challenging situations with a positive attitude.
• Be able to start ASAP.
