St John is looking for an experienced People Services Advisor. You will work closely with our People Leads, Strategy Partners, and wider Advisor team, providing general Advisor support as required. As a People Services Advisor, you will be responsible for providing advice, guidance, and support to senior employee managers on all aspects of engagement, policies, and procedures, including recruitment, inductions, development reviews, disciplinaries, grievances, and change management programmes, which will include consultation responsibilities.

You will help our managers champion our values and better manage their teams by supporting them through coaching and guidance. You will also liaise with our My Support Service teams to help implement important changes to processes and support.

Location can be anywhere, and hybrid working is possible; travel from time to time will be required.

About You:

We are looking for someone with initiative, good interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to build professional relationships. The ability to work in a diverse, flexible, and fast-paced environment, which may require travel locally and across the country, is essential.

You should have sound experience working in various generalist People areas, collaborating with stakeholders across different functions to resolve situations quickly and effectively. Advising managers and employees/volunteers on a range of People and Culture queries across the employee lifecycle, supporting change management programmes, consultation, and experience of TUPE would be beneficial.

About The Role:

Guide and advise managers on alternatives to formal sanctions, such as coaching, training, mentoring, and mediation, with the aim of resolving matters informally.

Support and advise managers on casework from initial conversations through to final stages, including appeals.

Provide best practice advice on recruitment matters.
