Job Title: Work Authorisation - Permit to Work Officer\nLocation: Hinkley Point C (HPC) Site\nReporting To: HPC Permit Office Manager\n________________________________________\nJob Purpose / Overview:\nTo issue, cancel, and suspend Work Authorisations and Construction Permits to Work through the P2W system. The role ensures safe coordination of construction activities across the HPC site.\n________________________________________\nWorking Context:\n• \tHPC is a highly regulated and complex construction environment.\n• \tNNB GenCo is the principal contractor.\n• \tThe Permit Officer will interface closely with Tier 1 and 2 contractors and other stakeholders to maintain control over work activities.\n________________________________________\nPrincipal Responsibilities:\n• \tVerify and process work authorisation requests and associated documentation (RAMS).\n• \tIssue permits in a timely and coordinated manner.\n• \tEngage with Construction, Safety, and Technical teams.\n• \tConduct assurance and compliance monitoring on site.\n• \tReport non-compliances and good practices.\n• \tContribute to performance/KPI reports.\n• \tSupport procedure updates and communication flows.\n________________________________________\nRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:\nEssential:\n• \tDeep knowledge of CDM Regulations (2015) and UK HSE legislation.\n• \tStrong organisational and interpersonal skills.\n• \tIndependent and proactive working style.\n• \tExperience working in a Permit to Work (PTW) environment (e.g. power stations, refineries).\n• \tMechanical or Electrical background.\n• \tIOSH certification.\n• \tConstruction/multi-discipline interface experience.\nDesirable:\n• \tNEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.\n• \tMechanical/electrical industry best practice knowledge.\n________________________________________\nCore Competencies:\niNTEGRITY:\n• \tPrioritises safety and ethical conduct.\niMPACT:\n• \tReliable delivery and contingency planning.\niNCLUSION:\n• \tCollaboration, respect, and communication.\niNSPIRATION:\n• \tOpen to innovation and continuous improvement.\n________________________________________\nSustainable Business Responsibility:\n• \tUnderstands and supports EDF's goals to operate sustainably in financial, social, and environmental terms.\nHealth & Safety Responsibility:\n• \tEveryone must follow, support, and promote safe working practices as per EDF policies and the law.\n________________________________________\nSummary:\nThis is a high-responsibility role in a complex construction environment where safety, compliance, and coordination are paramount.
