Role Summary and Impact
he Account Executive supports all day-to-day channel planning, campaign management, and account handling, supporting the Account Manager in delivering best-in-class comms planning and client servicing. As they develop in their career at T&P, they have the opportunity to take a lead on selected projects and workstreams within the client portfolio, supported by senior leaders within the team. They are supported by an Account Manager, who will mentor and coach them as a direct report.
The role of Account Executive is two-fold across easyJet and a second client, TBC.
easyJet
easyJet is a low-cost European point-to-point airline. They use cost advantage, operational efficiency, and leading positions in primary airports to deliver low fares, seamlessly connecting Europe, with the warmest welcome in the sky. easyJet is one of the largest airlines in the world, with 336 aircraft operating 1,024 routes across 36 countries and 155 airports. easyJet holidays was launched in 2019 to offer holiday packages that encourage the 84% of customers traveling on leisure to spend more with us rather than book accommodation elsewhere. They also happen to be one of our most recent wins across EMEA, and they have introduced a Holidays package offering, which is growing quickly and is very profitable. We work with easyJet across seven EMEA markets with local teams on the ground in each country. Core markets are the UK, France, and Italy. This is a split role with time divided between the UK planning team and the hub team coordinating EMEA markets (35% UK / 20% Hub).
Key Competencies
The Planning Executive will support the planning & hub team in building and maintaining positive relationships with clients, local market teams, and agency partners. They demonstrate professionalism in client interactions, actively listen during meetings, and communicate clearly and effectively. They focus on developing a foundational understanding of client communication and relationship building.
Actively participate in a team environment, demonstrating a willingness to collaborate, learn from senior colleagues, and contribute to a positive and productive atmosphere. They communicate clearly and respectfully, participate in team meetings, and demonstrate a commitment to agency values and cultural norms.
Develop a foundational understanding of the agency's business model, financial practices, and the commercial implications of media planning decisions. The Planning AE will learn about project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation, demonstrating financial awareness and responsibility. They assist in tracking project expenses and begin to understand client contracts and pricing models.
Support the planning team by gathering, organizing, and analyzing data to inform media planning decisions. The Planning AE will develop proficiency in using data and analytics tools and techniques, interpreting data to identify trends and insights. They support the team with campaign activation, working with specialist teams, the creative team, and clients to ensure the campaign goes live smoothly. They will contribute to campaign reporting and measurement.
Develop a foundational understanding of media planning principles, demonstrating a basic understanding of different media channels, target audiences, and campaign objectives. They assist in developing media plans, conducting research, and analyzing data to support planning decisions. They show a willingness to learn and apply core planning concepts.
Develop a working knowledge of agency systems and technologies relevant to media planning, complying with training requirements and demonstrating a willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and processes. They actively participate in training and development opportunities, seeking to expand their skillset and contribute to a culture of innovation within the agency.
Ability to develop a deep understanding of European media landscapes: eagerness to quickly grasp market nuances, local media planning methodologies, and the rationale behind individual market media plans. Proactively identify and share best practices across the network.
Skills and Experience
A high level of enthusiasm; they care about the business and want to make a difference.
Attention to detail – the Account Executive is the guardian of brand plans and is responsible for making sure they are accurate and updated in a timely manner.
They have relevant experience and/or educational qualifications. Qualifications in the fields of business, marketing, or media would be beneficial.
An understanding of and interest in media and the broader advertising industry.
They are curious about human behaviours and psychology, and the role that Marketing can play in influencing purchase decisions and building strong, future-proof brands.
Proficient in the use of software including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, and can demonstrate an experience using data and analytical tools to identify trends and insights.
Show an understanding and interest in foundational AI and its application within media and creative.
