Role Overview
Based in Markfield, Leicestershire, supporting both workshop and field-based operations
Inspect, service, maintain, and repair a variety of plant and construction machinery
Perform both workshop-based tasks and on-site repairs as required
Utilise a company vehicle provided for business and private use (taxable benefit)
Help reduce equipment downtime through proactive maintenance
Ensure all machinery meets safety, compliance, and performance standards
Conduct planned maintenance, servicing, and repair work on plant equipment
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults quickly and effectively
Attend customer sites for callouts, breakdowns, and urgent repairs
Complete machinery inspections and adhere to safety regulations
Prepare accurate service reports, job sheets, and maintenance documentation
Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a professional approach
Work independently and collaboratively to meet operational deadlines
Requirements
Previous experience as a Plant Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, or similar role
Strong mechanical knowledge of plant machinery (excavators, dumpers, telehandlers, etc.)
Confident in diagnosing and repairing faults
Full UK driving licence (essential)
Good communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimum supervision
Salary & Benefits
£16.50 per hour (based on minimum 42.5-hour week)
Saturday hours paid at time and a half
