PLC Systems Engineer
Location: Essex (commutable from East London / Kent)
Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Industry: Heavy Manufacturing / Industrial Automation
The Role
We are working with a large, well-established manufacturing business to recruit a PLC Systems Engineer for a key production site in Essex. This is a permanent role offering long-term stability and the opportunity to take ownership of site-wide automation and control systems.
You will play a critical role in maintaining, improving, and developing PLC-based systems within a heavy manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, program, commission, and maintain PLC systems
Fault-find and resolve PLC hardware and software issues
Optimise automation systems to improve plant efficiency and reliability
Support automation upgrades, modifications, and CAPEX projects
Manage change control and risk-based assessments for PLC systems
Support and develop engineers and technicians
Ensure compliance with health and safety and safe systems of work
Essential Requirements
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or similar
Strong PLC programming experience using Ladder Logic
Experience with Siemens and Allen-Bradley / Rockwell PLCs
Knowledge of SCADA, HMI systems, drives, and industrial networking
Background in heavy manufacturing, process, or industrial environments
