Octavius Infrastructure is proud to be a key delivery partner on Network Rail's North West & Central (NW&C) Capital Delivery Framework. As part of Lot A2, we are delivering multi-disciplinary rail infrastructure projects spanning civil engineering, buildings, and railway systems. We are ooking for a Pre-Construction Manager to join our growing team in the North West region, helping to shape and deliver innovative, safe, and sustainable rail solutions.

Responsibilities
As a Pre-Construction Manager, you will lead the early-stage development of complex rail projects from client remit through to contract award. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing NEC3 Professional Services Contracts.
- Leading site investigations, design coordination (permanent and temporary works), and construction methodology planning.
- Collaborating with designers, suppliers, and internal teams to develop value-driven, buildable solutions.
- Ensuring all necessary consents, estimates, and governance are in place before handover to delivery teams.
- Driving safety, quality, and sustainability throughout the pre-construction phase.

About You…. (what You Are Skilled At)
- Proven experience in pre-construction or project management within the rail or infrastructure sector.
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts and multi-disciplinary project development.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement, and commercial awareness.
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to delivering high-quality, customer-focused outcomes.
- A related degree, diploma, or vocational qualification, or equivalent demonstrable experience in Construction or Civil Engineering.
- Site Managers Safety Training Scheme, or equivalent CDM 2015 training (desirable).
- Chartered membership with a relevant industry body (i.e. APM or ICE) (desirable).
- Temporary Works Coordination (desirable).

- Work on high-impact projects across the West Coast Main Line and beyond.
