Many schools are happy for PGCE students in their final placement period to work as an Unqualified Teacher during the summer term. This gives you the chance to lead lessons, experience different school environments, and develop your classroom presence before stepping into your first permanent role.

What We’re Looking For • Final year Primary Education students or PGCE students • Confidence leading or supporting classes • Passion for education and supporting young learners • Strong classroom presence and communication skills

Essential Requirements • References from your two PGCE placements • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) – PGCE students will need to update their registration from Teaching Assistant to NQT during the summer term
