Overview of the Role You will be part of a high‑performance aviation team delivering airport planning services to the world’s most prominent airports, including London Heathrow, Hong Kong International, Singapore Changi, and New York JFK. The role offers opportunities for global travel, project secondments, and growth within a diverse, innovative environment. Responsibilities
Act as a technical specialist in airfield planning and operations across all types of airports. Train and mentor junior staff, providing technical leadership and career development. Manage the delivery of projects such as airport masterplans, facility planning, capacity and demand analysis, and simulation modelling. Coordinate and deliver planning tasks covering airfield, apron, terminals, satellite buildings, landside transport, ancillary/support facilities and utilities. Serve as Project Manager for medium‑to‑large projects and significant technical workstreams. Build and maintain productive relationships with clients and stakeholders, driving project success and new business opportunities. Lead the preparation and submission of high‑quality proposals to secure new work. Collaborate with related disciplines (airfield engineering, transaction advisory, forecasting, project & asset management, business planning).
Candidate Specification
Degree in aeronautical engineering, civil engineering, air transport management or airport planning (other relevant qualifications considered). Significant aviation industry experience; chartership preferred or equivalently transferable skills. Professional experience across multiple airport planning fields (airfield & apron, operations, terminal, landside, utilities, airspace). Experience managing and supervising medium to large project workstreams and teams. Competence in project and programme management, contractual knowledge, and delivery of commercially successful outcomes. Strong verbal and written communication abilities for client presentations and technical reporting. Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel (Power BI desirable) and familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, AviPlan, Infraworks, Navisworks, Revit, or similar platforms. Knowledge and experience with simulation & modelling tools for airfield planning.
