Our OEM Client based in Coventry is searching for a Principal Engineer – PQ Integration professional to join their team on a permanent basis. For further information on the opportunity, please see below:\n\nSummary of Department & Role:\n\nWorking on both Pre- and Post- KO, the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team is part of the Advanced Product Creation department. The team specialises in developing and integrating in the following areas for new vehicle concepts:\n\nManufacturing Feasibility.\nDimensional Management.\nPerceived Quality.\nThis is in support of TMPV / EV business units and third-party consultancy work.
The AME team covers all aspects of the Vehicle Assembly process including Stampings, BIW Assembly and TCF vehicle assembly. APC functions also include the following areas:\n\nUpperbody and Closures.\nExterior Trim.\nInterior Trim and Cockpit.\nThis role will be part of the PQ function and will provide support to the Lead Engineer. The grade reflects the experience and capability required of the individual.\n\nThe primary role is supporting TML projects in the design stages of the program, providing PQ direction for both Exterior and Interior Trim development.\nAdditional support to be provided to TML on request for part / assembly maturation process and root cause analysis support for production / design related concerns.\nReview and validation of system integration for Exterior and Interior themes.\nLead the Development of PQ methods and processes for TMETC and TML.\nProvide a good working knowledge of PQ benchmarking, current trends and execution on competitor vehicles.\nSupporting mentorship and knowledge transfer of PQ methods and processes to TML.\nMain Activities & Tasks:\n\nWill report to the Head of AME (Lead PQ Engineer will manage daily activities)\nCAD operation skills required – The successful candidate will be able to create and manipulate geometry in Catia V5, for the communication and development of component interfaces to support Gap & Rad Plans.
(Key module utilisation: Part Design & Geometric Surface Design). Expectation is that at least 50%-time utilisation will be supporting geometry .\nTCUA (Team Centre) PLM utilisation is desirable.\nGeneration and development of the PQ activities for Ext & Int Trim.\nSupport the Lead PQ Integration Engineer on complete vehicle activities.\nGeneration and maintenance of the Gap & Rad Plans.\nMentorship of engineering team in understanding and applying designs and engineering executions which achieve PQ targets.\nLead digital reviews and sign-off events for PQ related activities for Interior systems.\nDevelopment of Product Attribute Targets (PAT) based upon the Product Attribute PALS positioning for PQ.\nDevelop scope of work with key deliverables identified.\nIdentify PQ opportunities for process development and longer-term strategy.\nProvide PQ Benchmarking of competitor vehicles & reporting of findings in support of Design conceptual theme development.\nManage Optical Quality & Perceived Quality development & assessment activities.\nWork with PQ TMETC and with the PQ Team TMPV (in India) to agree future joint standards, processes and guidelines
