Job Description
Principal Engineer – Nuclear Substantiation (Site) \n We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role. \n Salary: £60,000 + depending on experience \n Authoring and managing nuclear site assets’ design substantiation documentation supporting the site nuclear safety case \n Reviewing analyses , assessments, and calculations supporting nuclear design substantiation \n Supporting periodic review of safety \n Supporting the implementation of design substantiation requirements \n Working closely with a broad range of stakeholders including Site Safety Case, Human Factors, and Engineering Authority Teams \n Support in the development of other Nuclear Substantiation team members \n Collaborating with the wider business on site assets nuclear design substantiation related activities \n Experience of the nuclear industry and nuclear safety regulations \n Degree qualified in a STEM subject or equivalent working experience. \n Ability to produce high quality technical reports \n Broad understanding of multiple engineering disciplines \n Chartered Engineer from the Engineering Council and a member of a relevant professional body \n Nuclear design substantiation analysis and assessment exposure/experience \n As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts – you may also be eligible for an annual incentive.
\n The Site Engineering – Nuclear Substantiation team: \n You will be joining a key team with some great development opportunities both in the technical and managerial streams. to the team, there are opportunities to get involved in the design substantiation and safety justification of a variety of site assets and facilities spanning mechanical, civil and structural, and electrical, in addition to getting in involved in finite element analysis and simulation using the latest cutting-edge tools and techniques. This also involves regular interaction and joint working with the Engineering Authority, Site Specialist Engineers, Site Safety Case, Human Factors, as well as Boat Services and Boat Build functions delivering an exceptionally varied and diverse scope.
