Therightcandidatewill:PrincipalPlanner
ToworkindependentlyoftheAreaTeamManagerdealingwithandleadingonmajorandcomplexplanningapplications,planningperformanceagreements,developmentsproposalsorprojects,includingundertakingnegotiations(withapplicants/prospectivedevelopersandrepresentativesofotherpartsoftheCouncil),carryingoutresearchandpreparingandpresentingalltypesofreportstoseniorstakeholders(includingcouncillorsandcouncilmeetings)Tomanageteammembersundertakingthereceiptandvalidationofapplicationsandtoensurethattheteammembersperformthefunctioninlinewithcorrectconsultationsandthatcasesarehandledwithintargettimes.
ToberesponsiblefornegotiatingcomplexS106legalagreementsandotherfundingagreementscontributingtothemulti-million-poundincomefortheauthority.
Toinputintoplanningandsitebriefsformajordevelopmentsitesasrequiredandactasathematicleadforareasofstrategicinterestforthecouncil.
Totakeresponsibilityforprovidingarea-focuseddevelopmentmanagementadviceandinformationforaspecificareaoftheBorough,establishingcloseworkingrelationshipswithRegenerationcolleaguestodelivercorporateobjectivesthroughtheplanningprocess.
TocontributetothedevelopmentofastrategicplanningfunctionincludingthereviewoftheLondonPlan,localplanningpolicydocumentsandtheformulationofnewstrategicpoliciesandsiteproposalstopromotetheCouncilsregenerationframeworkandprovideanintegratedapproachtoplanning,regenerationanddevelopmentissues.

Extensiveexperienceofdevelopmentmanagementworkwithresponsibilityfordealingwithaplanningapplicationcaseloadthatincludesmajorand/orcomplexapplications.
Experienceofnegotiatingplanningobligationsinrespectofmajorand/orcomplexdevelopmentproposals.
AnRTPI-recogniseddegreelevelqualificationinTownPlanningorequivalent
