Principal Sustainability Consultant (Remote – UK) £60,000 – £70,000 per annum
We’re partnering with an independent and rapidly growing building consultancy to find an experienced Principal Sustainability Consultant to join their Sustainability & Building Performance team.
Working fully remotely (UK-based), you’ll lead the delivery of sustainability strategies across a diverse portfolio of development projects, while helping to grow and mentor a talented team.
The Role
As a key member of the senior team, you will:
Lead the delivery of sustainability and building performance services across multiple projects Oversee project execution, ensuring quality, efficiency, and successful outcomes Mentor and support the development of consultants within the team Build strong, lasting relationships with clients and stakeholders Contribute to business growth through client engagement and proposal developmentTechnical Expertise
You’ll bring strong hands-on experience across:
Dynamic simulation modelling using IES VE Overheating assessments (CIBSE TM52, TM59, Part O, BB101) Operational energy modelling (TM54) Part L compliance (SBEM L2A/L2B) and EPC production Daylight and planning analysis Low and zero carbon feasibility studies Heating and cooling load calculations BREEAM assessments (ENE01, ENE04, HEA01, HEA04)Leadership & Commercial Impact
In addition to your technical strengths, you will:
Lead, mentor, and inspire sustainability consultants Support recruitment and team growth initiatives Deliver internal training and knowledge-sharing sessions Assist with financial planning, forecasting, and project profitability Play a key role in strengthening client partnerships and driving business developmentWhat We’re Looking For:
A degree in Sustainability, Building Physics, Environmental Engineering, Architecture, or similar Extensive experience in sustainability consultancy and building performance modelling Strong proficiency in IES VE and SBEM In-depth knowledge of UK building regulations and sustainability frameworks Proven experience managing projects and mentoring team members Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsWhat’s on Offer:
