precision aerospace components , and we are seeking a
Process Development Engineer
to support the development and industrialisation of new aerospace ducting products. This role will focus on
developing and implementing advanced manufacturing processes
for high-integrity aerospace ducting components, complementing our established aerospace clamps business. You will work with advanced materials such as
Titanium and Inconel , supporting new product introduction from concept through to full production. The position offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of
advanced forming technologies, welding, metallurgy, and heat treatment , helping to establish robust and compliant aerospace manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities
Process Development engineer
Develop and implement
robust manufacturing processes
for new aerospace product ranges.
Support capability growth in
advanced forming technologies , including: Deep drawing, Bulge forming, Hydroforming and Cup forming
Investigate and implement
innovative manufacturing techniques , including additive manufacturing.
Industrialisation & Project Delivery
Lead
process development projects
from concept through trials, qualification, and production release.
Manage tooling development, validation activities, and process readiness.
Ensure processes meet
aerospace quality and performance standards .
Technical Collaboration
Work closely with
Design Engineering, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain
teams to ensure manufacturability and compliance.
Act as a
technical interface with customers and external suppliers
for forming, welding, and heat treatment operations.
Support cross-functional problem solving during product introduction.
Documentation & Reporting
Prepare clear
process documentation , including process flows, work instructions, and manufacturing readiness reports.
Communicate development progress, risks, and lessons learned to engineering and production teams.
Compliance & Quality
Ensure processes comply with
AS9100 and aerospace quality expectations .
Identify and mitigate risks relating to
forming defects, weld integrity, metallurgical performance, and heat treatment consistency .
Promote strong
process control, traceability, and compliance documentation .
Travel
Occasional
international travel
may be required to support other manufacturing sites.
About You
Proven experience as a
Process Engineer
within
aerospace or other regulated manufacturing sectors .
Strong knowledge of
deep drawing, hydroforming, bulge forming, or cup forming
processes.
Experience working with
Titanium, Inconel, stainless steels, or aerospace superalloys .
Practical understanding of
welding, metallurgy, and heat treatment .
Strong problem-solving skills in
high-quality manufacturing environments .
Confident using
Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
for reporting and analysis.
Desirable Experience
Experience developing
aerospace ducting components, flanges, flexible joints, or ball joints .
Familiarity with
AS9100, NADCAP, or aerospace customer standards .
Experience with
forming simulation or process modelling tools .
Exposure to
additive manufacturing or emerging aerospace fabrication technologies .
Experience working with
global suppliers or outsourced manufacturing partners .
Essential Bachelors degree in
Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials Engineering , or equivalent industry experience.
The right to work in the UK - no sponsorship available
Desirable Training in
aerospace forming or welding standards .
Qualification or certification in
metallurgy or materials processing .
