A well established and widely recognised brand is investing heavily in the development of its procurement function and is now looking to strengthen its Marketing category capability.
The organisation is moving towards a more structured, high performing and value driven procurement model, with marketing spend a key focus area given its scale, pace and strategic importance to the business.
As part of this transformation, multiple Category Buyers are being brought into the team, offering a strong opportunity to join during a period of real change and progression.
Working closely with senior procurement leadership, you will support sourcing and category activity across a range of marketing sub categories such as media, creative agencies, digital, PR and insight.
This role offers strong exposure to a fast paced, commercially driven environment and will suit someone looking to build their expertise within a high profile spend area.
Key responsibilities:
• Support the delivery of sourcing activity across marketing categories including agency and media spend
• Engage with internal stakeholders across marketing and brand teams to understand requirements and deliver value
• Assist in supplier selection, negotiation and ongoing performance management
• Contribute to the development of category strategies and market insights
• Build strong relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders
What they are looking for:
The business is keen to speak with individuals who have 1 to 3 years experience within procurement, supply chain or a commercial environment, ideally with some exposure to marketing or professional services spend.
• Strong attitude, energy and curiosity
• Genuine interest in building a career in procurement, particularly within marketing categories
• Commercial awareness and analytical mindset
• Confidence working with stakeholders and external suppliers
• Willingness to learn and develop within category management and strategic sourcing
Previous marketing category experience is beneficial but not essential. The focus is on individuals with the right mindset who are keen to develop within a supportive and forward thinking procurement function.
This role forms part of a wider procurement growth plan, with further opportunities expected to be created as the function continues to evolve.
