About the role Reporting to the Head of Procurement, the Procurement Manager will play a pivotal operational leadership role within one of the world’s most respected cultural and scientific institutions. The role will lead on the delivery of procurement activity across the Museum, ensuring strong value for money, compliance with public procurement legislation and alignment with the Museum’s strategic and sustainability objectives. Positioned between the Head of Procurement and the Senior Procurement Officer, the role will act as the primary operational escalation and assurance point for procurement activity. The Procurement Manager will personally lead complex, high‑risk and high‑value procurements, while providing expert oversight, proportionate controls and quality assurance for procurement activity delivered by others. Alongside day‑to‑day functional leadership of the Senior Procurement Officer, the role will support the implementation of the Museum’s procurement strategy, own key supplier relationships and embed responsible procurement practices across the organisation. This is a hands‑on leadership role offering real influence, autonomy and the opportunity to deliver meaningful public value. About you You are an experienced public sector procurement professional who is confident leading complex, high‑value procurement activity and delivering results at pace. You bring strong commercial judgement and technical expertise, enabling you to design robust, compliant procurement approaches that achieve value for money while managing risk, and you are comfortable influencing senior stakeholders to reach well‑balanced outcomes.
