The role of the Materials and Supplies Planner is to maintain uninterrupted supply of materials to support manufacturing operations at the Liverpool site, whilst optimising stock levels to minimise material obsolescence. Using SAP define a materials delivery schedule which supports the production plan taking account any planned material changes. Provide monthly forecast to key vendors of future procurement needs Responsible for the maintenance of MRP master data and parameters, to ensure accuracy. Responsible for release prioritisation with the Incoming QC team Proactively manage costs and risks associated with materials Define and implement vendor communication processes which provide positive assurance of future deliveries and early warning of potential issues. Optimise inventory levels to minimise expiry of materials without business risk Responsible for the generation of Quality Notifications for redundant/expired materials Input to the monthly S&OP process detailing material exposures/risks for a rolling 24 month period. Contribute to overall Supply Chain functional excellence Take on an appropriate share of departmental support activities (training, SAP data housekeeping, new materials introduction) Evaluate and Implement Change Control actions which impact Supply Chain Materials Owner / Investigator of quality incidents and deviations required for material issues Facilitate cross departmental Supply Chain Materials Review meeting Highly competent in SAP for planning and control, or similar ERP system. Highly competent in Microsoft Excel Degree in suitable discipline or significant experience in a responsible Supply Chain or procurement role SAP literate (MRP, vendor forecasting, CRP, process order release) Knowledge and experience of Supply Chain planning and management a number of years experience in Supply Chain / Planning.
