Role: Product Design Engineer: Sheet Metal (SolidWorks)

Location: Kidderminster

Salary: £32,000 – £40,000 (DOE)

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing business in Kidderminster for a Product Design Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer with strong SolidWorks and sheet metal experience.

You’ll join a fast-paced production environment, taking sheet metal products from initial design through to manufacture.

Key responsibilities

Produce accurate, detailed sheet metal designs using SolidWorks

*

Create production-ready drawings and documentation for the shop floor

*

Work closely with surveyors and estimators to develop practical, cost-effective designs

*

Support a smooth transition from design to manufacture, working to tight deadlines

Essential skills & experience

*

Proven experience in sheet metal design

*

Strong proficiency in SolidWorks, including Sheet Metal features

*

Good understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes and machinery

*

Understanding of quality control tools and measuring equipment

Desirable

*

Experience with CNC machine tools (laser cutters and/or punching machines)

*

Programming experience is a bonus, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
