Job Title: Product Engineer Location: Sheffield (Hybrid) Salary: Up to £50k (DOE)
We’re looking for an innovative Product Engineer to join a rapidly growing technology business. The position will support the scale-up of an existing product while contributing to the development of a new product line. It is a pivotal role within the product lifecycle, offering involvement from early concept through to production. You will work closely with cross-functional teams across engineering, commercial, and operations to ensure successful product development and delivery. Strong organisational and communication skills are essential to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
About the Role
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities related to manufacturability, including yield optimisation, cost of goods reduction, test coverage, limit setting, guard banding, and test release Contribute to decisions around development or sourcing of key technologies such as assembly, testing, and burn-in solutions Review and contribute to product reliability test plans Work closely with production test engineering teams to implement product and test solutions at external manufacturing partners Monitor and track product performance against specifications throughout the full lifecycle Support production ramp-up and maintain yield performance across the product lifetime Analyse yield issues, working with subcontractors and internal teams to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventative actions Manage non-conforming materials and support disposition decisions Contribute to failure analysis and resolution of field returns Act as a technical point of contact for external assembly and test partners Carry out product characterisation and testing within a laboratory environment Perform detailed data analysis and reporting About you
Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent experience) Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a product engineering role Proven experience supporting products through the full NPI lifecycle, from definition to production release Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders Experience working with external manufacturing partners or subcontractors Please note we cannot offer sponsorship for the role.
