We are working with an established and highly respected manufacturing business in Fife to recruit a Production Planner.
This is a key operational role within a technical manufacturing environment, offering the opportunity to take ownership of production scheduling and directly influence on-time delivery, capacity utilisation and overall manufacturing performance.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining effective production schedules to ensure customer demand is met while optimising machine capacity, labour and material availability.
Acting as a central link between Commercial, Procurement and Manufacturing, you will balance operational capability with delivery expectations in a fast-paced production setting.
Key responsibilities will include:

Creating and maintaining detailed production schedules
*
Sequencing work to minimise downtime and changeovers
*
Monitoring schedule adherence and adjusting plans as required
*
Coordinating with procurement to ensure material availability
*
Monitoring inventory levels and identifying potential shortages
*
Analysing production data to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities
*
Providing regular KPI reporting including OTIF and capacity utilisation
*
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and future system development
About You
*
Experience in a production planning or scheduling role within manufacturing
*
Strong systems awareness and advanced Excel capability
*
Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail
*
Confident communicator able to work cross-functionally
*
Experience within technical or process-led manufacturing environments is advantageous
