Job Description
Job Title: Project Control Officer - PCO\n Location: Cheltenham, 4-5 days a week on site required\n Salary: £330.00 - £470.00 depending on skill set\n Job type: 12 months - possibility for extension \n Start date: Asap\n Hours: 37.5 hours per week\n No travel to other sites is required for this role \n\nCandidates must have Enhanced DV clearance in place already.\n\nRole Overview\n\nThe Project Control Officer will act as a key link between the Project Management, Commercial, Finance, and Contract teams-ensuring smooth coordination and consistent delivery. You'll support the full project lifecycle by maintaining governance, monitoring performance, and contributing to efficient project execution in line with strict deadlines.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nSupport Project and Contract Managers in delivering project controls and reporting.\nMonitor project budgets, costs, and forecasts; assist with financial reporting and invoicing\nMaintain project databases, trackers, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance\nAssist with risk and issue management, scheduling, and status reporting\nPrepare and update management reports, dashboards, and templates\nPromote adherence to project management frameworks and internal governance processes.\nBuild and maintain strong working relationships across internal teams and with clients.\nContribute to commercial operations from early planning through to final account stages.\nProvide administrative and analytical support to enable successful project outcomes.Skills & Experience\n\nBackground in project delivery or PMO environments.\nFamiliarity with structured and agile methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2, APMP, MSP, SAFe).\nStrong planning and scheduling skills; experience with P6, MS Project, or JIRA desirable.\nExcellent Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency.\nConfident communicator with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.\nComfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities.\nAnalytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.\nExperience supporting remote or distributed project teams.Personal Attributes\n\nHighly organised and motivated by successful delivery.\nStrong customer focus with a commitment to high-quality service.\nProactive and solutions-focused approach.\nTakes pride in accuracy, reliability, and meeting deadlines.\nKeen to develop professionally within project management.Interested in this position?
