We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Engineer (Civils) to join a high-performing Nuclear Power Engineering and Technical Services team, supporting a major UK energy client across its nuclear fleet.
This is a key role within a diverse and expanding project and engineering portfolio spanning multiple UK sites. You will be given the opportunity to work alongside experienced project engineering professionals, with ongoing mentoring, training, and clear development pathways into more complex and senior project leadership roles.
The position will be based primarily at Sizewell B Power Station, working as part of a large, client-led team. While some flexible working may be available, the role is predominantly site-based.
Key Responsibilities
Produce and maintain engineering documentation, including quality plans and technical specifications
Manage technical queries in line with established processes and procedures
Support contractor selection processes and contract placement activities
Conduct technical reviews of contractor documentation, drawings, and project options
Perform feasibility studies, site surveys, and liaise with designers and station engineering teams
Prepare and manage Engineering Changes, including all supporting and impacted documentation
Develop commissioning documentation and act as Test Team Leader where required
Support the Project Manager and Construction Manager to ensure safe, timely, and effective project delivery
Ensure all activities are carried out in compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards
About You
Strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a regulated environment
Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety and quality
Qualifications & Experience
Typically xbpsjku Chartered Engineer status or HND qualified
SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) qualification
Formal project management qualification (preferred but not essential)
Experience working within CDM regulations and delivering construction projects
Proven ability to comply with safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory standards
Desirable Experience
Experience in electrical power systems design and installation (e.g. National Grid, supply/distribution systems)
Previous experience working on power stations or nuclear licensed sites
Experience working in highly regulated environments with stringent safety standards
