Project Manager - Engineering (Complex Infrastructure / Energy Sector)

We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic environment where safety, quality, and performance are at the forefront.

You will play a key role in managing the full project lifecycle, working collaboratively with integrated teams and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage projects from concept through to completion, including design, procurement, construction, and commissioning

Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, partners, and cross-functional teams

Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements

Oversee project planning, cost control, risk management, and scheduling activities

Prepare and present business cases, funding papers, and project reports

Manage integrated project teams including internal staff, contractors, and specialist support functions

Drive performance through a results-focused yet team-oriented approach

Ensure quality standards are achieved and maintained throughout the project lifecycle

About You

Strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to build effective networks

Results-driven, with a collaborative and team-centred mindset

Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving capabilities

Qualifications & Experience

Degree qualified, ideally in Engineering or a related discipline

Chartered status (or working towards) is desirable

APMP qualification (or equivalent) with a strong understanding of modern project management methodologies

Proven experience delivering projects across the full lifecycle in complex, multi-functional organisations

Strong knowledge of:

Engineering, design, procurement, and commissioning processes

Commercial contracting and project financial drivers

Estimating, cost control, and planning

Risk management and Earned Value Management techniques

Understanding of Safety Cases and their development and implementation

Familiarity with relevant Health, Safety & Environmental legislation, including CDM regulations

Experience in preparing reports using tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Proficiency in project controls tools (estimating, scheduling, and risk systems)

Desirable Experience

Experience working on power stations or nuclear licensed sites
