Project Manager – Bridgwater Tidal Barrier
Location: Bridgwater

Rhino Recruitment are proud to be working on behalf of their client, Thames Valley Construction Ltd, to recruit an experienced Project Manager for the landmark Bridgwater Tidal Barrier project.
This major infrastructure scheme on the River Parrett will protect over 11,000 homes and 1,500 businesses from tidal flooding. With completion scheduled for 2027, this is a rare opportunity to play a key role in a high-profile project that will leave a lasting legacy.
The Role
Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of this complex construction project. You will ensure works are carried out safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage project delivery, resources, and programme timelines
* Monitor costs, labour, and plant usage against budget
* Identify and manage variations in collaboration with the Quantity Surveyor
* Act as the main on-site client contact and lead coordination meetings
* Produce regular progress reports and look-ahead programmes
* Lead and manage site teams, ensuring clear communication and performance
* Drive health & safety standards, including RAMS and toolbox talks
* Oversee quality assurance, compliance, and statutory inspections
* Coordinate temporary works, including design briefs and installation
* Support continuous improvement through reporting and corrective actions
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Project Manager in construction
* Strong knowledge of NEC4 contracts and change management
* Experience with formwork and temporary works
* Excellent leadership and site management skills
* Ability to manage programmes and mitigate delays
* Tidal or marine construction experience (desirable)
