GRAHAM is a leading provider of integrated Facilities Management and construction services, delivering high-quality, compliant and sustainable solutions across the public and private sectors, with extensive experience in the UK water and utilities industry.As part of GRAHAMs contracted service delivery for Yorkshire Water, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and support the delivery of, planned works, minor works and small capital projects across Yorkshire Waters diverse and geographically dispersed asset portfolio.The role will involve managing works across operational and non-operational assets, including water and wastewater treatment works, pumping stations, service reservoirs, depots, laboratories, offices and associated buildings and structures.Projects will be delivered under JCT forms of contract (including Measured Term, Minor Works and traditional construction contracts), with values ranging from minor works packages through to larger planned and project-based activities.Working within live, highly regulated and safety-critical operational environments, the Project Manager will liaise closely with Yorkshire Water operational teams, asset owners, supply chain partners and internal stakeholders to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in full compliance with contractual, statutory and regulatory obligations.Reporting to: Projects DirectorLocation: West MidlandsContract Type: Permanent / Full TimeBenefits: Up to 36 days paid annual leave / Excellent Company Pension / Free Life Assurance - 6 times annual salary / Training and Development / Discounted Private Health Care Scheme / Discounted Gym MembershipThe Project Manager shall:Manage the end-to-end delivery of minor works and project works across the Yorkshire Water estate, from instruction through to completion and handoverDeliver works under JCT contractual arrangements, ensuring full compliance with contract conditions, instructions, valuations, variations and final account processesCoordinate and manage self-delivery teams, subcontractors, suppliers and consultants, including building fabric, civils, mechanical and electrical disciplinesPlan, programme and sequence works, developing and maintaining appropriate programmes, short-term plans and progress reporting in line with contract and client requirementsAdminister contractual change control, including variations, extensions of time, loss and expense submissions and commercial evaluations in line with JCT proceduresEnsure full compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Systems, including CDM Regulations and Yorkshire Water site-specific safety rulesFulfil Principal Contractor duties where applicable and ensure safe delivery of works within live operational environmentsTake ownership of commercial performance, including cost forecasting, value control, risk and opportunity management throughout the project lifecycleMonitor and control time, cost, quality and resources, ensuring delivery within agreed response times, budgets and performance targetsProcure, manage and assess subcontractor performance, competence and compliance in line with GRAHAM and Yorkshire Water requirementsAct as the primary operational interface with Yorkshire Water stakeholders, including asset managers, site operations teams and framework managersChair and attend progress meetings, safety briefings and stakeholder reviews, ensuring accurate reporting and auditable project recordsMaintain robust project, commercial and quality documentation in accordance with JCT, Yorkshire Water and internal governance standardsManage works within live, operational and occupied environments, ensuring minimal disruption to critical water and wastewater operationsOversee testing, commissioning, certification, snagging, defects management and final account close-outCompile and submit complete handover information, including as-built records, certification, asset data and O&M documentationSupport delivery of sustainability, environmental and social value commitments, aligned with Yorkshire Water and GRAHAM objectivesPromote continuous improvement, innovation and best practice across maintenance and project deliveryPositively represent and promote GRAHAMs values, brand and professional standing within the water sectorThis job description is intended to give the post holder an appreciation of the role envisaged for the job title and the range of duties to be undertaken. Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed with the post holder at regular intervals.About YouEssential Criteria1.SMSTS qualification2.NVQ Level 6 or 7 (or equivalent) in Construction or Project Management3.Proven experience as a Project Manager within hard FM, maintenance, civils or construction environments4.Demonstrable experience delivering works under JCT forms of contract5.Strong understanding of JCT commercial management, including variations, extensions of time and final accounts6.Experience managing reactive maintenance, planned works, minor works and small projects7.Sound knowledge of CDM Regulations with strong health & safety leadership8.Experience working within live, operational or safety-critical environments9.Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams with effective cost and programme control10.Proficient in Microsoft Office and project planning tools11.Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with client operational teamsDesirable Criteria1.Experience working within the water, wastewater, utilities or regulated infrastructure sectors2.Experience delivering works for a water company or AMP framework3.CSCS Black Managers Card4.Membership of, or working towards, a professional body (MCIOB, RICS, APM)5.Experience supporting environmental compliance, sustainability and social value initiativesPlease note that Applicants will not be expected to meet any (or all) of the desirable criteria to be considered for interview.
