Project Manager – Civil Engineering (Rail)

Up to £70,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + Benefits | Hybrid | North West

We’re a major rail contractor with big ambitions — aiming to grow the business to £70 million in the next 4 years. We’ve already secured major contracts, diversified our client portfolio, and built a reputation for quality, collaboration, and low staff turnover. Now, with a new client in the Northwest & Central region, we’re looking for a Senior Project Manager to take charge of delivering exceptional civil engineering projects from concept to completion.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing all civil engineering activities from initial enquiry to contract completion.
  • Appointing site managers and supervisors.
  • Assisting our Geo-Tech Lead in forecasting and planning.
  • Producing project documents, HSQE contract plans, and thorough work schedules.
  • Acting as the Responsible Manager on projects.
  • Travelling to sites and offices (Manchester, Wigan, Penrith) as needed.


What we’re looking for

  • Minimum 3 years’ managing projects with a contractor in rail civil engineering.
  • NEC4 contract experience.
  • Proven ability to deliver projects you’re proud of — and the resilience to overcome challenges.
  • Someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and can self-manage in a hybrid setup.
