Senior / Lead Protection & Control Engineers UK - Contract (12 months) Birmingham, Glasgow and Remote locations available

Are you an experienced Protection & Control Engineer ready to take the technical lead? Do you enjoy working on complex transmission and distribution projects across the UK? Looking for a long-term contract where your expertise genuinely makes an impact?

What will you be doing? Leading the design and delivery of Protection & Control systems across UK T&D projects Providing technical leadership and guidance to engineers within the project team Producing and reviewing protection philosophies, schemes, calculations and drawings Working with clients and stakeholders to ensure designs meet technical and regulatory requirements Supporting projects through design, implementation, testing and commissioning phases Contributing to technical reviews, design workshops and site activities where required

Where you'll be doing it You'll be supporting major UK energy projects delivered in highly regulated environments. Work will span transmission and distribution networks, with projects focused on reliability, compliance and long-term asset performance.

What you'll need Strong experience as a Senior or Lead Protection & Control Engineer Proven background in the UK Transmission and Distribution sector Solid working knowledge of IEC 61850 and modern protection schemes Experience with protection relays and systems from major OEMs Ability to technically lead designs and mentor other engineers Comfortable working independently and engaging directly with clients Willingness to travel to site when required
