Overview
We are recruiting an experienced Electrician to join a well‑established and steadily growing business covering Southampton and the wider local area. This is a long‑term, permanent opportunity offering stability, consistent work, and a strong work‑life balance, with no call‑out rota and optional overtime available.
The role is largely installation‑focused, so it would suit someone who enjoys structured, planned work and takes pride in delivering high‑quality installations rather than dealing with constant reactive or emergency jobs.
The Role
In this position, you will be carrying out a range of domestic electrical installation works across residential properties. You will be expected to work confidently on both first and second fix installations, ensuring all work is completed to current regulations and company standards.
You will be trusted to manage your own workload on site, maintain a professional approach when dealing with customers, and complete all relevant testing, certification and paperwork accurately. There is also the opportunity to broaden your skill set, with exposure to additional technologies such as heating controls and Solar PV installations.
Key Responsibilities
Completing domestic electrical installations across residential properties Carrying out 1st and 2nd fix work to a high standard Ensuring all work complies with 18th Edition regulations Testing, inspecting and completing certification as required Assisting with or installing heating control systems where applicable Completing all job paperwork accurately and on time Representing the company professionally while working in customers' homes
Required Experience & Qualifications
5+ years' experience working as a qualified electrician Apprentice trained, holding NVQ Level 3 and AM2 18th Edition qualification (essential) Solid background in domestic installation work Full UK driving licence Comfortable working independently and managing installations on site
Desirable (Not Essential)
2391 Inspection & Testing qualification ECS Gold Card, which is considered a strong advantage Experience working with heating control systems Exposure to Solar PV installations (training can be provided, making this a great opportunity for upskilling)
