SGO Assessment Social Worker - Stockport

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated SGO Assessment Social Worker to join our team in Stockport.

This is a focused assessment role responsible for undertaking Discharge of Care Order (CO) Special Guardianship Order (SGO) Assessments for Kinship Foster Carers. The successful candidate will play a key part in delivering high-quality, timely assessments and developing robust support plans.

Responsibilities:

• Complete Discharge of Care Order SGO Assessments for Kinship Foster Carers
• Produce clear, analytical, and evidence-based assessment reports
• Develop and finalise SGO Support Plans tailored to family needs
• Work collaboratively with children's services and fostering teams
• Maintain accurate and compliant case records

To be considered for the role, ideally you will have:

• Recognised Social Work Qualification
• Social Work England registration
• 3 + years social work experience
• Experience completing SGO assessments / court-related work
• Strong assessment, analysis, and report-writing skills
• Ability to manage a dedicated caseload independently
