Job Description
The primary role of the Quality Engineer will be to interpret, comply with and improve DVM’s quality assurance standards. Essential to this responsibility will be the requirement to ensure quality assurance activities are documented, internal reporting processes adhered to, and regular audits implemented. The Quality Engineer will identify any training needs and ensure the company-wide participation in the quality management system.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
The following list of responsibilities is not all inclusive, additional projects and/or tasks may be assigned to meet operational needs. DVM retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position should operational needs warrant.
Plan, execute, and document inspection and testing of products to verify conformance with specifications and deliverables. Assist operations team in tracking, documenting, and reporting quality levels for performance, corporate social responsibility, environmental, health, and safety goals and key performance indicators. Investigate product complaints and reported quality issues to ensure closure in accordance with company guidelines and external regulatory requirements. Monitor risk-management procedures using software and documentation to identify, investigate, and report issues to management and product development teams. Identify and provide training and support to team members, focusing on systems, policies, procedures, and processes. Support, participate in, or conduct external ISO, UL, or internal audits Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making skills. Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills. Ability to interpret basic electro-mechanical diagrams including front elevation, one-line, manufacturing, and schematic drawings. Proficient in all Microsoft office applications.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in engineering or related field. (Required) 1-3 years of applicable experience in a manufacturing/industrial or related setting. (Required) Knowledge of quality assurance and continuous improvement standards, terminology, methods, and tools including ISO9001, version control procedures, non-conformance/corrective action processes, auditing, 8D, 5Why, PFMEA, Kaizen, process flow mapping, etc. () Knowledge of low voltage switchboard / switchgear design, installation, and use. () Knowledge of local, state, and federal codes governing the installation and use of low voltage switchgear. ()
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), to include, but not limited to eye/ear/hand/feet protection. Physical exertion may vary. May be required to regularly stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, frequently stand or walk around the work area, and lift or move objects up to 50 lbs. Work responsibilities may involve manipulating small parts, using hand tools and repetitive motions. Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity are essential. Must be able to follow instructions and stay alert to potential hazards on the shop floor. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the assigned facilities. Manufacturing facilities can be loud and have bright lights. Temperatures subject to seasonal weather conditions (hot in summer and cold in winter months). Availability and ability to travel, as needed, between DVM manufacturing facilities (Stone Mountain, North Wales & West Chester) and/or client sites. Some travel will require overnight stays.
