Quality Lineside Engineer

Our client has an opportunity for a Quality Lineside Engineer to join them on a contract basis for 6 months. You will be performing Quality Inspections as per defined standards, Final Check and Attestation, Stop Points, out of sequence work, including critical activities.
Role: Quality Lineside Engineer Location: Filton, 100% onsite Contract Length: 6 months Hours: 4 days per week - Mon-Thu 06:30 - 15:45, with potential overtime on Friday Clearance: BPSS required before starting Hourly Rate: £31.30 per hour via Umbrella, inside IR35
What you'll be doing:
Perform product inspections according to standards, delegation rules and guarantees attestation of work-orders under his accountability Performs Clearance of areas, Pre-delivery checks, Duplicate checks of Customer Protection Board items; Duplicate checks of Key Risk items Participates in setting of quality standards and ensures compliance with them in own area of responsibility Collects and manages Quality issues requiring preventive and corrective actions and contributes to daily workstation Lean activities (e.g. SQCDP, PPS) Ensures that containment, customer protection board activities and corrective activities are implemented and efficient within dedicated lead-time agreed and communicated within the area Provides feedback to the Inspection Standard Operations Instruction Owner, to ensure relevant and consistent controls for their update Ensure the requirements for inspections & controls are cascaded to the shop floor Support the Quality Conformance Manager in the Set-up of Control Charts and the calculation of capability Raises non-conformities against design definition, checks reworks, and closes these NCs Contributes to operators' qualification and performs surveillance of certified operators and product, according to Quality standards and surveillance plan survey and support Performs surveillance of processes and process confirmation activities according to Quality standards and surveillance plan. Support risk analysis (FMEA) Knowledge of the Cost of non-Quality process is required Ensures that documents to be archived by Quality are completed and gathered in accordance with Quality rules
Requirements: Essential
Strong communicator with inspection and surveillance experience Minimum 3 years' experience in a lineside/ quality inspection position Someone who can ensure quality standards are met and able to reacting quickly to customer feedback while working in a fast-moving operational environment Strong problem solver with experience of using PPS techniques Someone with the ability to successfully lead a multi-functional team to ensure quick problem resolutions Experience of root cause analysis is also essential Essential to meet the criteria for this role that you have a good level of engineering, manufacturing, inspection and quality experience and can prove this in your application and experience.
