An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a well-established and highly respected Edinburgh-based residential property developer known for delivering distinctive, design-led homes in some of the city’s most desirable locations.
This developer specialises in high-quality new build, conversions and refurbishment projects, with a strong focus on architecture, placemaking and long-term value rather than volume delivery. Each development is carefully considered, bespoke in nature and delivered to an exceptional standard.
The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial delivery of residential developments from early feasibility through to final account. You will work closely with the wider development, design and construction teams, contributing to cost planning, procurement strategy and commercial decision-making throughout the lifecycle of each project.
This is a hands-on role offering genuine exposure to the full development process, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety, responsibility and being closely involved in the detail of each scheme.
Key Responsibilities

Preparing and managing cost plans, budgets and forecasts across multiple residential projects
*
Procurement of subcontractors and consultants, including tender analysis and appointment
*
Valuations, variations, cost reporting and cash flow management
*
Close liaison with project managers, designers and site teams to ensure commercial control
*
Managing subcontractor accounts and supporting final account agreement
*
Contributing to feasibility studies and value engineering where appropriate
About You
*
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within residential development, housebuilding or high-quality refurbishment
*
Comfortable working on bespoke, non-standard projects rather than volume production housing
*
Strong commercial awareness with excellent attention to detail
*
Confident communicator who can work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
*
Based in, or commutable to, Edinburgh
