Quantity Surveyor - Bedfordshire - up to £90,000 Car Benefits - REF 2002 I am currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to work for a leading building and construction organisation based in Bedfordshire. Salary up to £90,000 Car Benefits. The organisation has been established for over 100 years and work on a range of interesting projects primarily throughout Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and North London, but have previously supported further afield throughout the UK. To support the business with its growth plans and in line with the current workload they have the need to appoint another Quantity Surveyor on a permanent basis. In this role as a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for putting bids and tenders together off the back of enquiries with hope of winning the work. Assuming you win the work, you will then appoint the sub-contractors with a view to negotiating the margins as much as possible and then pick up any VO's (variation orders) on site. You will be tendering for various jobs simultaneously and project values vary from £100,000 to £1,800,000. Most of the work is refurbishment focused with the Councils and NHS. Estimates suggest you'll be on site for 1 day p/week, but you would be responsible for managing the frequency as and when you felt necessary to successfully execute the role. Essential Requirements: Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or similar At least 5 years' experience Capable of managing your own projects through the full life cycle from initial enquiry to close outDesirable Requirements: Experience with refurbishment projects Experience with schools, hospitals and/or health centres Experience with MS ProjectThis is a fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to work for a very well-respected business that have fantastic staff retention.
