We’re looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding commercial team based in In various locations you prefer You'll play a key role in managing the commercial aspects of exciting and complex construction projects within the industrial and built environment sectors.
Our client is a construction delivery partner that works directly with major developers, occupiers, retailers, and logistics businesses. They specialise in managing and building projects from concept through to completion, including new builds, fit‑outs, expansions, renovations, and reconfigurations, they mainly serve primarily industrial and logistics, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, data centres and ports, with projects also in commercial spaces, retail, hotels and schools
Your Responsibilities
Job Description
Knowledge and use of GCL surveying forms/management systems
Maintain on site records/photos/etc
Liaise with site management team to fill out labour allocation sheets
Lead project meetings i.e. design team, client progress meetings
Approval of PO’s after request from site team and quote received from TQS/AQS
Carry out TRM Meetings with Operations team for sub-contractor orders
Prepare sub-contract order documents with no or minimal errors for review/approval by SQS/MQS
Measure, price, negotiate and agree budgets and costs for variations to project scope for review with QS/SQS
Complete sub-contractor liabilities to feed into forecast
Complete cost projections i.e. Labourers, Engineer, other staff, plant, materials
Follow procurement schedule to achieve timely procurement of sub-contractor packages
Prepare and issue revised sub-contractor enquiries in line with project procurement schedule
Carry out evaluation and comparison for sub-contract packages for recommendation to SQS/MQS in line with Contract Budgets
Value sub-contractors works in line with project valuation dates
Carrying on sub-contractor payment notices for review with SQS/MQS in line with agreed payment terms
Complete and monitor Collateral Warranty Schedule
Carry out external client valuations maximising value and achieving overvalue
Complete initial forecast ensuring correct revenue/cost completed in conjunction with Estimator
Carry out monthly forecasts ensuring accurate reporting of project position
Help in the preparation and completion of external reporting for monthly progress meetings
Maintaining control over main contract and ensuring it is followed with design adhered to and any variations are picked up with EA
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s, HND or equivalent in QS field
Technical writing and reporting skills with ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner
Experience of industrial and/or built environment projects
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage and prioritise workload independently.
