Our client is a well-established and rapidly growing construction contractor based in the North West of England, specialising in maintenance, fit-out, and refurbishment projects across a range of sectors nationwide.
Having been trading for just over five years, the business has experienced impressive growth, with annual turnover now exceeding £10 million and increasing year on year. Project values typically range from £500,000 up to £2 million, and the company has built a strong reputation for quality delivery, reliability, and long-term client relationships.

The Role
Due to sustained growth and a strong pipeline of upcoming work, the company is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of fit-out and refurbishment projects up to £2m in value.
The successful candidate will take commercial responsibility for multiple projects from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring cost control, value for money, and profitability. You will be supported by a Graduate Quantity Surveyor and an Apprentice, offering an opportunity to mentor and develop junior staff.
You will work closely with the Project and Contracts Management teams, contributing to both project success and the wider commercial strategy of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial management of fit-out and refurbishment projects valued up to £2m.
Preparation and management of project budgets, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts.
Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers, including tender analysis and contract placement.
Valuation of works, preparation of applications for payment, and management of variations.
Cost reporting and forecasting throughout the project lifecycle.
Agreement of final accounts with clients and supply chain partners.
Support and mentor a Graduate QS and Apprentice, encouraging professional development.
Work closely with project teams to ensure commercial and contractual compliance.
Assist with risk management, value engineering, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business and long-term partnerships.
Key Requirements
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
Strong background in fit-out, refurbishment, or maintenance projects.
Sound commercial awareness with experience managing projects up to £2m.
Good knowledge of construction contracts and procurement routes.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
Willingness to travel to sites across the UK as required.
Full UK driving licence.
