Job Description

Our Client are a respected, leading main contractor and have just been awarded a £10million new build residential project just outside of Guildford and are looking for an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to lead the project.


Duties:

  • Manage all commercial aspects of projects from initial procurement through to final account settlement
  • Prepare, review, and administer contracts, with a strong focus on JCT forms of contract
  • Carry out cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting throughout the project lifecycle
  • Procure subcontractors and suppliers, including preparation of tender documentation and evaluation of returns
  • Manage valuations, variations, and change control processes
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, value completed works, and identify risks
  • Prepare and submit interim valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts
  • Negotiate and agree subcontractor accounts and manage payments
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial risks
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and project teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Produce accurate and timely commercial reports.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
  • Strong working knowledge and practical experience of JCT contracts
  • Demonstrable experience managing projects from procurement stage through to final account
  • Excellent commercial awareness and financial management skills
  • Strong negotiation and communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
  • Proficient in cost management and reporting tools/software
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field (preferred).
