JOB TITLE: Senior Quantity Surveyor Salary - £50-60K (plus car or allowance) KEY PURPOSE: To ensure commercial and contractual control of a portfolio of projects and manage the Company's risk profile. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES; Working with the site teams to facilitate delivery of projects within quality, health & safety, programme, contractual and commercial constraints including the procurement of sub-contractors, preparation and submission of external valuations, identification, pricing and agreement of change, valuation and agreement of sub-contractor accounts, commercial management of projects. MAIN TASKS SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE ATTITUDES/BEHAVIOURS ? Management of sub-contractor procurement. ? Attend sub-contractor Pre-Contract meetings. ? Preparation of formal sub- contract Agreements. ? Measurement of works. ? Management of legal issues and disputes. ? Management of important commercial issues. ? Management of sub-contractor interim accounts. ? Agreement of sub-contractor final accounts. ? Budgetary control including monitoring of costs and the prompt identification and management of overspend. ? Submission of monthly CVR reports. ? Submission of monthly Profit and Loss reports. ? Preparation and presentation of Commercial and Post-Contract Reviews. ? Management and submission of external Applications for Payment. ? Identification, pricing and settlement of Compensation Events, variations and additional works. ? Agreement of Client final accounts. ? Convene and attend meetings as required. ? Good communication skills. ? Appropriate IT skills. ? High level of commercial awareness. ? Time management skills. ? High level of literacy and numeracy skills. ? Excellent decision making and problem solving skills. ? Excellent negotiation skills. ? Hold relevant qualification e.g., BSc, NVQ4, MRCIS. ? Good knowledge of construction techniques and processes. ? Excellent knowledge and understanding of various forms of Method of Measurement. ? Excellent knowledge and understanding of various forms of standard engineering contracts. ? High level of experience in the construction industry. ? Appreciation & willingness to adopt Value engineering principles. ? Good knowledge of market rates and prices. ? A good knowledge and experience of current legislation relating to health and safety issues. ? Information management skills. ? Ability to motivate and influence people. ?
