We have an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to work within our Head Office, located in Liverpool, ideally you will have approximately 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role/setting and hold a degree level qualification in Quantity Surveying, familiarity with Microsoft Project would be an advantage as would the ability to produce Gantt charts and programs.
George Jones employs 150 tradesmen, who are currently covering in excess of 20 contracts and due to our continued expansion across the Northwest and south east we are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our team at this exciting time.
We work in a wide variety of market sectors including Local Authorities, Housing Associations, Health Authorities, Residential Homes, Schools, Universities and Colleges, also Government Departments, Specialist Projects for the Crown Estate and Facilities Management.
We provide painting, decorating and various maintenance services including pre-decorative repairs, upvc window and door replacement, fencing / gate repairs and replacement, repairs to guttering, fascia and soffits, brickwork repairs and patch rendering.

The Principle duties: -
You will work closely with our Commercial Manager.
You will be familiar with the use of various Schedules of Rates.
You will be responsible for liaising with clients from initial enquiries through to final accounts, cost control and management projects.
You will be responsible for procuring sub-contracts and agreeing final accounts.
You will be expected to carry out site surveys.
You will be responsible for preparing cost reports and cash flow forecasts as well as other duties assigned by the Commercial Manager.
Skills
Good IT skills with competency at Microsoft Word and Excel.
Highly numerate and motivated individual.
An excellent communicator, confident, polite and courteous when communicating with colleagues, residents, clients, directors and contractors, both verbally and in writing.
Good time management and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Ability to work individually and effectively as part of a team.
Must be willing to accept responsibility for completing designated tasks
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
BSc in Quantity Surveying and proven track record of relevant experience
