This role will focus on managing costs and ensuring the successful delivery of retrofit projects aimed at improving energy efficiency in both residential and commercial buildings.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying, particularly within the construction or retrofit sector, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for sustainability.\n\nResponsibilities will include:\n\nManaging and overseeing the cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting for multiple retrofit projects.\n\nPreparing detailed cost estimates and ensuring accurate project pricing for various works related to energy efficiency improvements.\n\nConducting regular site visits to monitor project progress, ensuring costs align with the project scope and quality standards.\n\nManaging procurement and liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure efficient resource management and cost control.\n\nEnsuring compliance with contract conditions, regulatory standards, and sustainability goals.\n\nMonitoring changes in project scope and implementing variations as required, advising on cost implications and impact on timelines.\n\nPreparing and presenting regular reports to senior management on project costs, performance, and risks.\n\nSupporting the negotiation and settlement of any disputes related to costs or contract variations.\n\nCollaborating with the retrofit delivery team, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure the successful and timely completion of projects.\n\nWhat you will need to succeed:\n\nProven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the retrofit or construction sector.\n\nStrong knowledge of cost management, budgeting, and financial control in construction projects.\n\nExperience in managing variations and contract changes, with the ability to assess the financial implications and risks.\n\nA degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).\n\nProfessional accreditation (e.g., MRICS or similar) is desirable but not essential.\n\nExcellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.\n\nStrong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.\n\nA proactive approach to problem-solving and project management.\n\nA good understanding of energy efficiency standards and sustainability initiatives within the construction industry.\n\nWhat you get in return:\n\nCompetitive salary range of £45,000 - £65,000, based on experience and qualifications.\n\nComprehensive benefits package, including healthcare, pension scheme, and performance-related bonuses.\n\nOpportunities for career progression within a dynamic and growing company focused on sustainability and innovation.\n\nA collaborative and supportive work environment where your ideas and contributions are valued.\n\nExposure to cutting-edge retrofit projects that contribute to reducing environmental impact.\n\nFlexible working arrangements to support a healthy work-life balance.\n\nIf you are a driven and experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to contribute to energy-efficient solutions and make a positive impact in the construction industry, we want to hear from you!
