Role Overview
We are seeking experienced RAN Climbing Engineers to support nationwide rollout, upgrade, and maintenance activities across EE/BT and VodafoneThree networks. Engineers will be working on Ericsson and Nokia radio access network (RAN) equipment, carrying out installation, integration support, commissioning assistance, swaps, and decommissioning works on live sites.
Both Team Leader and Second Man positions are available. Rates are dependent on experience and competency and will align with current UK industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Installation, upgrade, and decommissioning of RAN equipment (Ericsson & Nokia)
Working on live sites across EE/BT and VodafoneThree networks
Safe climbing and rigging on rooftops, towers, masts, and monopoles
Radio equipment swaps, antenna works, cabling, and fibre management
Supporting integration, testing, and commissioning activities where required
Completing site documentation, check sheets, and photographic evidence
Ensuring all works comply with H&S regulations, RAMS, and client standards
Acting as Team Leader where required, including site control and mentoring second man
Required Experience & Skills
Proven experience working as a RAN Climbing Engineer in the UK
Hands-on experience with Ericsson and/or Nokia RAN equipment
Experience working on EE/BT and/or VodafoneThree networks
Competent in working at height and on live telecoms sites
Strong understanding of UK telecoms health & safety standards
Ability to work independently or as part of a field team
Full UK driving licence
Certifications & Accreditations (Mandatory)
Field teams must hold all
industry-standard certifications , including but not limited to:
Working at Height & Rescue
RF Awareness
First Aid
Manual Handling
Asbestos Awareness
Valid Medical (e.g. Chester Step or equivalent)
Vendor/network-specific accreditations where applicable
Equipment Requirements
Field teams must supply
standard industry equipment and tools
Own van
suitable for telecoms site access
Specialised equipment
will be provided when required
Rates (Sub-Contract)
Team Leader:
£400
£450 per day
Second Man:
£350
£380 per day
(Rates dependent on experience, certifications, and vendor/network competency.)
