An opportunity has arisen for a Refrigeration Engineer (PPM) to cover Leeds and Bradford, delivering planned maintenance across multiple retail sites.

JOB PURPOSE
To carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across multiple sites, ensuring refrigeration systems operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with company and regulatory standards. The role will also support reactive maintenance during peak seasonal trading periods.
JOB DUTIES
Complete all scheduled PPM visits within agreed timescales.
Carry out reactive refrigeration repairs when required, particularly during summer and peak trading periods.
Ensure all service documentation and compliance paperwork is completed accurately and submitted in line with company procedures.
Identify non-repairable faults and promptly report findings to the Line Manager with suitable replacement recommendations.
Maintain up-to-date technical and compliance records at all times.
Participate in the out-of-hours standby rota, completing a minimum of four full standby weeks annually (including evenings and weekends).
Arrange appropriate cover for standby periods where required and communicate effectively with management.
Deliver all work in accordance with Health & Safety regulations and company standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain refrigeration systems to ensure minimal downtime across customer sites.
Represent the company in a professional manner when attending client locations.
Support the 24-hour engineering service model through standby participation.
Deliver work efficiently to meet contractual KPIs and service expectations.
Build positive working relationships with site teams and internal departments.
Maintain company vehicle and equipment in good working order.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Essential
NVQ or City & Guilds in Refrigeration.
Refrigerant Handling Certification (C&G 2079 or equivalent CITB).
Time-served apprenticeship.
Minimum 5 years' experience within commercial refrigeration.
Full UK driving licence.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable
Hydrocarbon refrigerant certification.
CO2 refrigerant training.
Experience within commercial or supermarket environments.
Additional hydrocarbon or CO2 system training.
SALARY & BENEFITS
£43,874.79 total salary package (inclusive of standby payments)
42.5 hours per week, permanent full-time contract
