Regional Sales Manager - East of England

FTH Hire Group is one of the largest independent plant and tool hire companies in the UK, with 19 depots across the South of England, Wales and Scotland. As a result of our expansion plans, we are looking to take on additional high calibre team members.
The Regional Sales Manager role provides a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the ongoing success as the business continues an exciting growth plan. This is a pivotal role within the company, providing key support and further strategic direction to a defined multi-depot regional team to provide industry leading service delivery to a growing customer base.
A background in the hire sector would clearly be advantageous although not necessary, but experience within a sales and multi-site management role is essential.
Main Responsibilities
Team Management and Development
* Hold responsibility for the performance and ongoing development of the regional team
* Direct management of Depot Managers and Territory Sales Managers within region - Guildford, Worthing, Chelmsford, Maidstone and Horsham
* Work in partnership with HR/Recruitment team to oversee regional people resource remains in line with the regional resourcing plan and to ensure effective recruitment and employee on-boarding, role training and ongoing development of depot teams, including oversight of employee performance appraisals
* Work with the Senior Leadership, Regional Management and Learning and Development team to evolve and strengthen a culture of team motivation and continuous improvement, working together, personal development, employee engagement and purpose of role
Sales, Customer and Commercial Management
* Responsible for the overall sales performance vs budgeted plan for all hire hubs within the region
* Contribute to the company sales planning and the execution of the company plan through regional team
* Responsible for depot P&L performance across the region and instigate actions in conjunction with key stakeholders to deliver budgeted Regional GP
* Manage sales budgets, analyse market and customer data to identify sales trends and oversee the work of Sales Managers in their region
* Work with the Sales Director and regional team to develop and execute sales plans to maximise existing key account opportunities
* Responsible for ensuring the new business sales pipeline value and ongoing sales opportunity management supports delivery of defined new business targets across the region
* Identify, develop, and undertake regional networking opportunities to strengthen awareness of the FTH brand across local markets
* Work with the internal Marketing Department to identify and implement regional sales and marketing opportunities within the framework of the company marketing plans
* Work with the regional team to provide ongoing resource and support in relation to required commercial decisions (including but not limited to pricing sign off, rate management, account rebates and completion of tenders)
* Work in partnership with the internal supplier team to support development of regional supplier relationships to maximise FTH commercial performance
* Responsible for providing local market insights and competitor activity to further develop FTH commercial and marketing strategies
* Undertake and lead on regionally focused Management meetings and prepare required regional performance reporting for the leadership team
* Support as required network growth opportunities
