for an experienced and driven
Registered Manager
to lead a Family Assessment Unit in Derby (DE1). This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong leader with experience in residential and/or assessment services who is passionate about safeguarding, quality standards, and supporting families to achieve positive outcomes. About the Role As the Registered Manager, you will hold Ofsted registration and full legal accountability for the service. You will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of the assessment/residential unit, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and evidence-based practice are delivered at all times. You will oversee staff, budgets, resources, and operational performance, ensuring that families receive high-quality support within a safe, structured, and homely environment. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership Hold Ofsted registration and legal responsibility for the service Lead and safeguard all children, young people, and vulnerable adults within the unit Oversee admissions, placements, assessments, and discharge processes Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of placement plans Undertake and review risk assessments Ensure detailed, accurate recording and high-quality report writing Attend court and give evidence where required Work closely with the Therapeutic Team to ensure families receive appropriate support Build strong partnerships with Social Workers, health professionals, and local authorities Promote an open and transparent culture where residents feel listened to Staffing & Resources Manage staffing structures and rotas to meet service needs Lead safer recruitment in collaboration with HR Ensure thorough staff induction, supervision, appraisal, and training Monitor staff performance and absence Chair effective team meetings Manage budgets and prepare financial reports as required Leadership & Compliance Provide strong leadership, guidance, and direction to staff Ensure compliance with Childrens legislation, regulations, and National Minimum Standards Embed high standards of care and safeguarding across the service Participate in the senior on-call system Promote continuous professional development What Were Looking For Previous experience as a Registered Manager (or experienced Deputy ready to step up) Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and family assessment frameworks Proven leadership and staff management experience Experience managing budgets and operational performance Excellent report writing and court experience Strong partnership working skills Commitment to safeguarding and achieving positive outcomes for families Whats on Offer Competitive salary of £47,008
